Marauder, revisited

This project

Marauder-ah is a set of improvements over Shawn Hargreaves' game "Marauder", written in 1994. You may want to check out his website. You control a spaceship with a basic weapon, and your purpose is to kill as many people as you can. Earning money (using piracy or trade) enables you to upgrade your ship and buy deadly weapons.

Why ?

Well, there are many improvements in marauder-ah, though the gameplay didn't change really. I decided not to bother keeping a Changelog, so I can't provide a complete list of what differs. The most important thing, is that marauder-ah is maintained, whereas Shawn does not seem to care for his marauder at all.

UPDATE (2005-03-13)

I splitted marauder-ah into three branchs : The first local multiplayer release should happen soon.

UPDATE (2005-05-04)

I'm giving up.

Well, I don't know if I will regain interest in this project. Maybe - let's consider that the development is frozen until something, or someone, motivates me.

Screenshots

People love screenshots. It helps them decide whether to download or not. I know that : I behave the same way.

The screenshots are located on another page, so as to keep this one fairly small

Download

The CVS version is not of much interest to you, thus you should download a file release. You won't find a "stable" and "developer" branch. There's only a development version, considered as stable unless stated otherwise, with incomplete features and so. Please provide feedback (see at the bottom of this page). I try to release often, i.e. as soon as a modification is done.
